TACO BRAID

HOW TO MAKE TACO BRAID

This Taco Braid is made with just a few ingredients, making it a quick and easy supper to prepare. This recipe is fantastic for finicky eaters and also serves as an excellent appetizer! If you are looking for quick and simple supper ideas, this recipe is sure to be a success for your family. Simple taco meat, salsa, and cheese are all you need to make this tasty take on Taco Tuesday that even the pickiest eaters will like.

I always encourage people to prepare my own taco seasoning, which they can get on my website. It is ideal for recipes such as this one, which calls for a package of taco seasoning to be used. Make a large batch of my recipe and replace the package with 3 tablespoons of your favorite homemade sauce or dressing. When you create your own, you have more control over factors like salt content and the level of spice. However, I will admit that we prepare it exactly as mentioned and eat it multiple times a week at our house.

THE INGREDIENTS LIST:

Canned Pizza dough, I used one can.

400 to 500 grams.Of lean ground beef.

Taco seasoning, you can use the homemade or one store-bought packet.

Mexican salsa, you’ll need one cup.

Shredded cheddar cheese, I used 1¼ cups, divided.

Finely chopped tomatoes.

Chopped lettuce.

Canned beans.

Black olives.

…etc, you can whatever you want!! Be creative!!

PREPARATION:

Step 1:

Set your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare your ingredients before you begin.

Step 2:

Cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink in a large pan over medium-high heat. Get rid of the fat. Mix in the taco seasoning and salsa in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3:

Place a silicone mat or parchment paper on a baking sheet and roll out the pizza dough there. Making cuts along the edge of the dough an inch apart on both sides, leaving three inches in the center, cut the dough in half.

Step 4:

Be sure to spread the meat mixture evenly throughout. Add 1 cup of cheddar cheese to the top of the dish. Fold a piece of dough from one side over the center of the filling, sealing it.

Step 5:

Then, take a piece from the other side and fold it in half. Continue folding the dough in half, alternating sides, all the way down the length of the dough. And before baking, pinch the ends of the dough together to keep the filling inside.

Step 6:

At this step, you need to bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the top of the braid is well browned, with the remaining cheddar cheese sprinkled on top.

Step 7:

Before serving, let the tacos sit for approximately 10 minutes before adding your preferred toppings and cutting into them.
